What To Consider When Choosing Cardstock

Whether you’re planning on printing out lots of lovely A4 landscape brochures or just want to revamp your business cards this year, your choice of cardstock will have a big part to play in the impact of your printouts. But which to choose? Here are some handy hints to help you out.

Weight

This is how thick the paper is, often measured in grams per square number. The higher the number, the thicker the cardstock. It’s as simple as that!

Surface type

Picking out the right kind of surface for your printing is essential, so think about what you’re planning to produce. Matte surfaces aren’t glossy and are often used for scrapbooking and greeting cards. Glossy cardstock is very shiny, so would be good if you’ve got lots of images to work with as they’ll really stand out.

Colourful cardstock is also available, as is mirrored, patterned and even glitter – so you could go completely wild with your designs if you see fit!

Size

You’ll also need to think about what size is right for your printing. Cardstock luckily comes in a variety of different sizes (6×6, 8×8, 8.5×11 and 12×12), so you’re sure to find something that suits your needs perfectly.

If you’re still unsure of what kind of cardstock is right for you and what you want to print, don’t panic. It’s always best to talk to the professionals so give us a call here at A4 Brochure Store and we’ll be able to give you all the advice and help you need.
